Faculty of Health Sciences was initially opened as Vocational School of Health Sciences in 1989, and within that period, gave service in departments of Nursing and Midwifery.
A protocol about launching Schools of Health was signed with Higher Education Institution in 1996. With this protocol, School of Health started to admit students to the departments of Nursing and Midwifery. Due to the lack of instructor, education was interrupted in the department of Midwifery between the years of 1999-2009.
With a decision published in no 27340 official gazette on the date of September 5, 2009, School of Health was closed and Faculty of Health Sciences was established instead.
In the Faculty of Health Sciences, there are the departments of Nursing, Midwifery, Respiratory Therapists, Nutrition and Dietetics and Health Administration. Right now, the education is continuing in Nursing and Midwifery departments. However, students have not been admitted to the departments of Respiratory Therapists, Nutrition and Dietetics and Health Management yet.
