Semiconductor physics,statistic and carrier transport phenomena, basic semiconductor equations. Semiconductor bulk effect devices, thermistors. Hall devices. Photoconductor. Gunn effect. P-N junction theory. p-n junction diode; V-I, C-V, transient and breakdown characteristics. PIN, Step recovery and varactor diodes. Effects of high doping, tunnel and backward diodes. Breakdown and transit time device. IMPATT's and BARITT's. JFET and Unijunction transistor. Multiple-junction devices. Bipolar-junction-transistor; theory, d.c.,high frequency, switching and breakdown characteristics. P-N-P-N devices.
